DPT Commercial Ltd was found by myself (Damian Tydeman) in January 2023. I started as an Apprentice Mechanic in 2007 working for a National company.
After I completed my Apprenticeship I moved on to another company to gain more experience working with different types of vehicles, but after only 3 years away from my first employer, I returned as a Mobile Service Technician.
I then progressed further as a Workshop Manager in Hingham, Norfolk in 2017. In 2021 I was then promoted to Regional Workshop Manager overseeing a number of workshops round the country.
Late in the year of 2021, me and my wife welcomed our first baby girl into our family. I spent a lot of time away from home travelling from workshop to workshop and after a year, I had to make the biggest decision of my working life.
I chose to leave my career I worked so hard for so I could be a better father to my little girl. This was when I decided to start the business and offer my expertise to the local area. I felt that the long hours, travel, and stress of my previous career was taking time away from my daughter and I wanted to be able to spend more time with her and be more present. Starting a business enabled me to do that while also providing for my family.
